Bluebird, Butters, and Beers
Head out into the Wastach backcountry with 4Frnt skier Wiley Miller and Level One Productions filmer Freedle Coty? Sounds like a plan to me.
After burning some time down in the city getting ready (we were all smoked from the previous day) and wrangling Wiley’s dog Taj, we dumped a car at the Big Cottonwood park and ride and rolled on up to Alta. The sun popped out and we were treated to a warm bluebird day as we packed into the backcountry to examine some zones. Freedle and Wiley had a game plan in mind so I took a bit of a back seat and shot lifestyles as we made our way out. I’d love to tell you exactly where we went, what we did, and how crazy things got but… I’d hate to ruin the surprise of next year’s movie. I will say that I always have a good time when I head out with the Level One filmers, and Wiley Miller’s charging, positive attitude never fails to amaze. Two other guys I’d rather spend a day shooting with? Nahhh.
Once the shadows closed in we began the hike back into Alta just in time for happy hour on the deck. Beers in hand we ended the day like we started it, thanking the seasons for the warm spring sun.
